The Azores Archipelago is back in the limelight of sustainability and is in the top 100
of the most sustainable destinations in the world, and is also the most sustainable tourist destination in Europe.
This award was made by Green Destinations and the result came from an invitation
launched on social networks involving some 30 specialists in sustainable tourism at international level.
They obtained a score of 8.9 out of 10 possible points to achieve.
The world’s top 100 sustainable destinations were created in 2014 to qualify
the destinations that make the difference with regard to sustainability.
