Porto Pim Beach
Porto Pim beach is perhaps the most emblematic bathing area of the island of Faial, with good support infrastructures and a beach of clear sand, something uncommon in the Azores archipelago.
It should also be noted its historical importance, since it was here that the island began to be populated.
Almoxarife Beach
Being one of the most sought after places on the island for water sports, Almoxarife Beach is one of the most frequented in Faial. Its extensive dark sandy beach and its view of the Pico mountain endow the beach with a breathtaking beauty.
Its crystal clear waters with mild temperatures, invite you to a relaxing swim, in a beach that holds a Blue Flag.
Capelo Park Natural Forest Reserve
This forest space, located in the Capelo area, reaches a total area of 96 hectares. The area is abundant in endemic flora species and is equipped for barbecues and picnics.
One can also find a traditional Azorean house, characterized by its basalt construction. Inside this house, you can find utensils, clothes and many other elements of the daily life of older times.
Faial Botanical Garden
Located in the parish of Flamengos, the Faial Botanical Garden has been open to the public since 1986 and aims to conserve the flora of the Azores and promote environmental education.
Its collections range from an orchidarium or ornamental plants, to collections of medicinal plants and endemic plants.
Florêncio Terra Garden
Named “Florêncio Terra Garden” in honor of Florêncio Terra, a Faial writer and politician, this small picturesque garden is one of the oldest on the island. In the center of the garden is a gazebo surrounded by a small pond. The gazebo is surrounded by four statues, each representing the Seasons.
