The Mantamaria dive center is located in the Atlantic Ocean, on the island of Santa Maria, the most southeastern island of the Azores archipelago. Enjoying a mild and sunny climate, it provides several activities on Santa Maria Island.
The location of Santa Maria, provides excellent conditions for the practice of diving, not only because of the climate and the magnificent visibilities, which can be around 20 to 40 meters, where the Mount Submarine of Baixa do Ambrósio is a world ex-libris being a coveted site due to the dozens of manta rays, and the set Formigas&Dollabarat considered by many the best diving site in Europe due to its crystalline waters where you will always have the opportunity to observe more frequent species.
The ideal season for diving in this region is defined as being from May until the end of October, a period when its key factors come together: good temperatures (average 26ºc) at the surface and average (22ºc - 24ºc) sea temperature, low rainfall, light winds and the appearance of a greater number of pelagic species, especially manta rays and whale sharks (locally known as pintados).
The Mantamaria diving school/center has several activities: Guided diving trips; Diving with manta rays; Snorkeling; Boat trips around the island; Fósseis Sea Route; Paddle; Baptisms and Diving courses.
Open every day from 8h30-18h00.
