Celebrating 50 years of membership in ISTO, the INATEL Foundation will organize this congress, with the support of the Government of the Azores and Tourism of Portugal.
The choice of location is mostly due to the fact that the Azores were the first archipelago in the world to receive the distinction of “Sustainable Tourism Destination”, according to the Global Council for Sustainable Tourism.
The sustainability of tourism at the social level has always been an important focus for the development of the sector. Thus, this congress aims to raise awareness of its importance and promotes the discussion of measures, policies, and guidelines that assist an enriching long-term evolution for the communities residing in tourist destinations.
